SunGrid looking for a bright, top-performing, highly motivated General Conusel to join the Senior Management team. An ideal candidate is someone who is a fast learner, is willing to roll up their sleeves and work collaboratively with a wide variety of business stakeholders and takes initiative to identify and solve problems.

This General Counsel role provides an excellent opportunity to learn about and support many aspects of SunGrid’s business. The position requires the individual to support the contract management team, outside counsel and senior management with a wide variety of contracting and other legal matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a direct team of support functions and outside counsel.
  • Analyzing, reviewing and/or revising confidentiality agreements, subscription agreements, business associate agreements, subcontracting agreements, online terms and conditions, and various other documents.
  • Designing contracting workflow, including managing contracting inbox, contract data entry, and contract reporting and analysis
  • Serving as first-level point of contact for contracting queries and working with practitioners in SunGrid
  • Global to analyze issues, provide possible approaches for addressing issues or obtain additional relevant information.
  • Negotiating various agreements around Mergers & Acquisitions, vendors, other third parties, and their respective representatives.
  • Drafting documents and correspondence to inform senior management of key risks.
  • Performing legal research utilizing legal reference publications, computer databases and other tools.
  • Handling specialized administrative functions, such as entering information into electronic databases and file maintenance.
  • Performing other functions such as proofreading, redlining, preparing indices for documents, maintaining and updating form files, and organizing and maintaining reference materials and databases.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years’ experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Experience supporting vendor management/third party governance programs.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts and managing contracting processes.
  • Experience improving contracting processes and making them more efficient.
  • Expert in Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel and contract lifecycle management tools.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications (written and oral) skills.
  • Accustomed to applying independent judgment, performing under pressure, and meeting deadlines, and working in a fast-paced global environment.
